Our Background

CommunityAid Zambia is a local, indigenous Zambian non-profit, rural development and humanitarian organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty in the rural communities of Zambia.

Since it was founded began in 2016 in Eastern Province of Zambia. CommunityAid Zambia has worked directly with a total of more than 5,883 households for five (5) years and these benefitted from small ruminants, vegetable, sun flower and groundnuts seed and agricultural supplies besides various community trainings.

CommunityAid Zambia has been active in Zambia since 2016. Since then today, CommunityAid Zambia has worked in collaboration with District Livestock Cooperatives.

In 2018 CAZ was officially registered under the NGO Registrar under the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services (MCDSS) of the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) as an independent local and rural development Zambian organization and its Headquarters is in Chipata, the capital city of Eastern Province of Zambia.

In its development work approaches CAZ prefers to work with community and self-help groups such as; women clubs & Cooperatives or Farmer Groups, Adult Literacy Centers, Livestock Self Help Groups, Community drama groups, School Child Rights Clubs, Safe Motherhood Action Groups (SMAGS) groups.

Theory of Change

What makes CommunityAid Zambia (CAZ) unique is the practice known as:  End Poverty Together (EPT) through Research, Development & Innovation. Communities and Families receiving any form of support from CAZ agree to be engaged in ending poverty together through community participation. But CommunityAid’s most striking qualities are its simplicity and effectiveness in its development approach. CommunityAid Zambia’ s common sense approach to sustainable development works – One community- One household at a time. Our vision, mission, Development Approach and values define our work and what we do and how we approach our rural & vulnerable communities across all gender paradigms.

Geographic Focus

During the period of its current strategic plan 2024 – 2028, CommunityAid Zambia will continue implementing its activities in Katete, Chadiza, Vubwi, Chipangali, Sinda, Petauke, Mambwe & Nyimba of Eastern Province and other regions. This will strengthen further the impact of its programs; consolidate the partnership and networks that were developed in the operational areas. Consolidating our efforts in the current operational areas will also avoid spreading the resources thinly and reduce the operational costs while increasing and deepening the program impacts and benefits to the rural project beneficiaries.
