Dr. Dennis K. Lembani, holds a PhD in Development Studies & Adult Education, MA & BA in Development Studies. He is a Lecturer at University of Zambia, Department of Community Education & Lifelong Learning- Eastern Province Campus. His research interests are in Rural Development and Rural Livelihoods, Economic Growth & Development, International Politics, Research Methodology, Adult Education & Development, Project Planning & Management, Environment and Natural Resource Management, Gender and Social Development, Education in Development. He is a Board Member of African Institute of Leadership and Governance of South Africa and is a Research Associate and founder of Community Aid Zambia. He stands as a beacon of light to many that sails on the sea of knowledge and development. A great mind and inspiration to many in the society.

He has more than 10 years of demonstrated history of development experience with managerial and leadership & development work in Zambia & beyond for local and international development NGOs. He has managed regional development programs with significant donor contract management, fundraising, program development, budget and financial management like; for EU, UNICEF, AfDB, UNICEF, UN- Habitat For Human Settlement, The Hunger Project, ActionAid International, Heifer Project International, World Bank Group, FSDZ, Send a Cow UK, Self Help Africa, CommunityAid Zambia, Big Lottery UK, USAID, Human Education International of the Netherlands, Transform Africa, Borthar, IrishAid and DFG & Academic & Research Institutions such as: University of Hohenheim. Besides, he has significant work & academic experience in educational programs – lecturing, research & Development, human rights, governance & advocacy work, Community Health, agriculture & Livestock production, Climate Change & Sustainable Development, agri-business & social and economic-development.

Dr. Bruno Stephen July Phiri

Dr. Bruno Stephen July Phiri is a seasoned researcher with a strong foundation in veterinary medicine and microbiology, holding a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM), a Master of Science, and a PhD. His professional expertise spans a wide range of research areas, particularly in the fields of climate change and smart agriculture, where he has made significant contributions to developing climate resilience strategies and biofertilizers. Dr. Phiri is dedicated to advancing sustainable agricultural practices, including livestock production, indigenous cattle intensification, and various methods to strengthen the resilience of agricultural systems against climate-induced challenges.

Beyond his research pursuits, Dr. Phiri has extensive experience in humanitarian and emergency management, having held a range of roles with the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and other organizations. His career began as a District Emergency Officer (2002-2003), where he coordinated emergency responses and supported vulnerable populations. He then served as an Assistant Settlement Manager (2003-2005) and a Refugee Settlement Manager (2005-2006), during which he managed the welfare, settlement, and integration of refugee communities. Dr. Phiri later took on the role of Program Officer (2006-2007), where he further contributed to program development and the implementation of sustainable practices in various regions.

With a multidisciplinary background and a wealth of field experience, Dr. Phiri continues to play a vital role in both research and humanitarian efforts, working at the intersection of agriculture, environmental science, and community development. His commitment to sustainable solutions and his work on climate-resilient agriculture make him a valuable contributor to the ongoing global efforts against climate change.
